Aliu Maikano Abdul Mumin. A dedicated professional and a passionate advocate for peace, tolerance, and development, he holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from West African Union University, completed in 2019. Aliu’s academic path reflects his longstanding ambition for diplomatic service, a journey further enriched by his internship and National Service at Ghana’s Controller and Accountants General Department from 2019 to 2021. These experiences strengthened his understanding of governmental operations and administration.
Aliu’s commitment to knowledge and spiritual growth led him to pursue further studies in Quranic and Arabic studies in Nigeria from December 2021 to June 2024. Concurrently, he worked as an auditor and supervisor at Nana Ali Global Enterprise, a wholesale distribution firm in Kano, Nigeria. This role allowed him to apply his analytical skills in finance and management, developing systems that improved efficiency.
A man deeply rooted in his faith and values, Aliu is the life patron of the Aliu Kalamul Faida Foundation (ALKAFF), an NGO dedicated to fostering peace, promoting interfaith understanding, and combating extremism within Ghana and beyond. His involvement with ALKAFF dates back to 2017, a period marked by rising tensions among various Muslim sects in Ghana. After the tragic assassination of his father, Sheikh Ali Ahmed Maikano, who was a key promoter of peace and tolerance, Aliu stepped up as a leading force in the organization. As the foundation’s secretary, he organized strategic engagements, drafted speeches, and led outreach missions across Ghana and neighboring countries to promote harmony and reconciliation.
In 2019, Aliu spearheaded ALKAFF\'s largest conference, focusing on peaceful coexistence, youth empowerment, and anti-extremism initiatives. His work in this regard received recognition from prominent leaders, including Ghana’s Vice President, Dr. Mahmud Bawumia, who praised his father’s legacy of unity and peace. Today, Aliu’s dedication continues through ALKAFF Forward Learning, a platform educating over 500 listeners on the values of Islam, peace, and non-violence.
Aliu remains committed to serving in civil service roles that align with his passion for diplomacy, peace-building, and community development. His diverse experiences, academic background, and unwavering resolve position him as a valuable asset in any endeavor dedicated to fostering social cohesion and positive change.
