George Weah is a Liberian politician and former professional footballer who made history as the first African former professional footballer to become a head of state.¹ Born on October 1, 1966, in Monrovia, Liberia, Weah rose to fame as a prolific striker, playing for top-tier clubs like Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan, Chelsea, and Manchester City.
